Timeline for re-opening ARCCAW offices under review

with No Comments

Dear Members,

Recently, the Government of Alberta announced steps to gradually lift public health measures related to COVID-19. The Alberta Regional Council of Carpenters (ARCCAW) is carefully monitoring these steps to ensure we can safely and effectively re-open our offices in Edmonton, Calgary and Fort McMurray to members and the general public.

For now, all ARCCAW offices will remain closed to the public. In March, we will re-assess the potential to re-open fully – assuming pressures to Alberta’s health care system have eased sufficiently. Following this review, we will inform members about the status of and a potential timeline for re-opening.

We recognize the closure of our offices can create challenges for members. However, the decision to close was made in an effort to help uphold health-related safety and security for our members and staff while also ensuring we maintain business continuity and the ongoing delivery of essential member services.

We are taking some steps to better address member needs.

Members who need to speak with a Business Agent can now meet with them onsite at the ARCCAW offices on an appointment basis only. If you need support or a meeting, please contact your respective Business Agent for more information.

This past month at the Local 1325 regular member meeting, we were pleased to introduce a Zoom webinar option that enable members to attend the meeting remotely. We are piloting an approach with Zoom for Local 1325 that we hope to eventually apply to our other locals. The next Local 1325 member meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m. Our goal is to host the meeting both in-person and via Zoom. A Zoom invitation for the meeting will be sent out later this month.

We would like to thank all members for their patience and understanding in what has been a challenging two years. We look forward to opening soon and welcoming all members back to our halls.
