American and other Foreign Workers in Canada
The Alberta Regional Council of Carpenters and Allied Workers is a staunch proponent of utilizing Canadian workers first at the current time. We are not accepting foreign workers, nor do we believe employers should be allowed to permit Temporary Foreign Workers for Alberta construction projects, though of course we will staunchly defend the right of foreign workers to join and belong to a union should they already be in Canada.
If the price of oil changes and we should need to bring in American UBC workers, there is a process to register yourself to work in Canada.
