There is likely no other organization in North America so dedicated to training as the United Brotherhood of Carpenters.

We see training as the cornerstone of our future. If we are to be competitive, and to increase our market share over time, we must do so on the basis of a membership who lead their trade in competence and productivity. Neither of those qualities happens without training.

Our North American union has invested US$ 80 million in our International Training Centre in Las Vegas, where staff from our many regional training centres staff receive world-class train-the-trainer instruction.

Our new $23 million Training & Administration Centre in Edmonton is more than half dedicated to the Alberta Carpenters Training Centre (with two state-of-the-art scaffolding halls and a carpenter training shop) and the Alberta Millwright Training Centre (equipped with several million dollars worth of contemporary industrial machinery). The ACTC also operates training programs in Calgary and Fort McMurray.

UBC members do not pay for training and upgrading courses, even if they attend programs in Las Vegas.
