To Members of Local 2103,
The Local 2103 Executive has been working to develop a Bursary Trust Fund that will provide five (5) scholarships of $1,000 each to members of Local 2103 and/or their dependents. The scholarships will be provided through a strict competition in which recipients must submit an essay of 1,500 to 2,000 words that includes the following topics:
- What unionism means to them.
- Describing the importance of growing market share in our industry.
- The importance of organizing and how it directly correlates with market share.
- What does the future of organized labour movement look like in our industry and our world?
All applicants’ essays will be judged by the Local 2103 Executive. Winners will be invited to a regular Local 2103 monthly meeting to read it. If winners are unavailable to read the essay in person, the Local 2103 Executive will designate another member to read it on their behalf.
Applicants must be members of Local 2103 in good standing. The application deadline has been extended to July 31, 2022.
