Brothers and Sisters,
The COVID-19 pandemic and public response has created an unprecedented situation with huge implications for our health, economy and livelihoods. We clearly recognize the impact this has on you, our members, and your families. For our part, we are committed to providing you with up-to-date and relevant information about COVID-19 as new information becomes available.
We encourage you to visit our COVID-19 FAQ at albertacarpenters.com/covid19. The page includes links to government programs and resources. Be sure to review your eligibility and apply for supports that are applicable to you.
The Canadian UBC Council has also set up a COVID-19 member response line to help answer questions. To reach the response line, call 1-800-354-1812. You can also reach out to your Business Agents for information.
Some members have asked us about hosting another town hall and we’re working towards hosting one as soon as possible. Town halls are always a great opportunity for members to discuss topics of importance to them in an open forum. Our council benefits greatly from this feedback and I encourage all members to participate. If there are topics or information you would like to hear discussed at the town hall, please contact your Business Agent with your ideas.
Spring observances like Easter, Passover and Ramadan are times of togetherness for many families and friends. Social distancing guidelines permitting, please be there for one another in any way you can. Follow the advice of health experts, stay positive and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need support. We will get through this together and come back even stronger.
