Members,

The Alberta Carpenters Training Centre in Fort McMurray (MacKay Crescent location) has rescheduled the Scaffold Journey Level Upgrade course that was scheduled to start next week to February 16 – March 27, 2026. We encourage members who are qualified or that have been on the Waiting List to register and attend this course.

While there is a Waiting List for the Journey Level Upgrade course, we did not receive enough registrations to proceed with the 6-week course at this time. We need member participation in order to proceed with scheduled training. 

Prerequisites:

• Member in good standing 
• Possess a Journey Level Carpenter Certificate; and/or
• Be recognized as a Journey Level Carpenter by the Carpenters union; and/or
  a) Proof of six years experience as a Scaffolder
  b) and a minimum of 10,000 documented Scaffold hours
  c) and a letter from a Scaffold employer (Union contractor) endorsing Journey Level competency
