Bartlett Group’s innovative ‘Excel’ scaffolding system is now on display at the Edmonton Hall.

Carpenters’ Regional Council members are encouraged to visit the Edmonton hall to learn more about the latest innovation in scaffolding technology: Excel by Bartlett Group. A scaffold setup using the Excel tech is currently on display in the main foyer of the hall.

Developed by Bartlett, Excel is safe, reliable and versatile. It is also designed to help speed up assembly and disassembly on jobsites to help reduce downtime. The CRC is currently approaching smaller signatory contractors to explore their potential of deploying Excel in the field.

Beyond using Excel on jobsites, CRC members will also have an opportunity to manufacture the scaffolding.

Last fall, Bartlett announced its new Canadian headquarters and manufacturing facility in Strathcona County. The roughly 142,000 square foot facility located on 10 acres of land just east of Edmonton will manufacture industrial scaffolding for Bartlett’s construction clients across North America. The facility is expected to create 100 permanent jobs and seasonal peaks of up to 150 jobs, with the manufacturing work to be fulfilled by members of Locals 2010 and 1325.

“The new scaffolding manufacturing plant will help broaden the range of work opportunities available to our members,” says Kurt Kashuba, CRC Regional Manager for Alberta and British Columbia. “We’re proud to collaborate with Bartlett and explore ways we can continue to support them as they expand into the Canadian market.”
