The Alberta and Northwest Territories (District of MacKenzie) Regional Council of Carpenters and Allied Workers (the “Alberta Regional Council”) and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Locals 1325, 2103, 2010 and 1460 Alberta Millwrights (the “Locals”) take your privacy seriously and are committed to respecting and protecting your personal privacy. The use of this website is established by the Alberta Regional Council for the benefit of members of its Locals.  The privacy policy is explained below.

Information Collected

You may visit our site without having to tell us who you are or reveal any personally identifiable information when you do not log in with a username and password. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual such as your name, email address, or phone number and other such information which is not otherwise publicly available.

The Alberta Regional Council collects personal information when you register with us to use certain services provided through this website. Where a member of a Local who has registered and logs in, we do collect personally identifiable information in order to fulfill his or her request. The web server which our site uses may automatically log and record information from your web browser including your IP address, cookie information, the pages you request, the time spent on each web page, and any search terms entered by you.

Role of Third Parties

The Alberta Regional Council contracts with third parties to host and operate this website.  Where the Alberta Regional Council collects personally identifiable information, we will not share it with other companies or individuals except and unless:

  • We have your permission to share the information; or
  • We need to share your information with certain third parties with which the Alberta Regional Council has a business relationship in order to provide services such as this web site or a service you have requested. These include the web hosting site, the internet service provider, and the companies who provide contracted computer and internet services to the Alberta Regional Council.  These third parties do not have the right to use your personal information beyond what is necessary to deliver the services they are contracted to provide; or
  • We respond to disclosure demands if permitted or required by law including subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, to establish or exercise our legal rights, or defend against legal claims, or as otherwise required by law.

The Alberta Regional Council will not sell or disclose your personally identifiable information to anyone.

Security Measures

The companies the Alberta Regional Council contracts with to provide this site and services operate networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection. The contractors have security measures in place to attempt to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of your user data.

Only certain employees and necessary contractors have access to the information you provide.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. If we are going to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify you by sending a notice to the last email address you provided to this site. You will have a choice as to whether or not we use your information in this different manner. If we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our databases, we will post a prominent notice on the web site notifying users of the change.
